As the Senior Director of Workforce, Kim manages the Chamber’s contract with FloridaWorks, as well as the six staff members of the Business Services team. She addresses recruitment, placement and training issues for employers in Alachua County and facilitates FloridaWorks’ business and community partnerships. Kim is a graduate of the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management. She serves on the LifeSouth Community Advisory Board and is the current president of the Leadership Gainesville Alumni Association.
As the Director of Business Services, Joe develops relationships with human resources directors and area businesses, discussing FloridaWorks services, encouraging them to post their job openings on the Employ Florida Marketplace and educating them about available employee training grants. He participates in a weekly radio show, Job Talk, through the Florida Employers Advisory Council (FEAC), during which he promotes FloridaWorks, current job openings, and the resources available through the Employ Florida Marketplace. Joe also serves on the FloridaWorks High Skills/High Wages Committee and is a member of the North Central Florida Society for Human Resource Management, the Business Leadership Network, FEAC and the Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Network Board of Directors.
As a Business Services Representative, Edward works directly with employers to post their job openings on the Employ Florida Marketplace and matches qualified applicants to those job openings. Edward also introduces employers to other services available to them through FloridaWorks. In doing so, Edward develops relationships with area human resources directors and business owners, learning about their needs and how FloridaWorks Business Services can help meet them. Edward also supports and promotes the Employ Florida Banner Centers for Biotechnology and Construction.
As an Employer Services Representative, Steve assists employers who call or come into FloridaWorks Gainesville One-Stop Career Center. He provides information on FloridaWorks’ services and the ease with which EmployFlorida can help fill job openings. He enters employers’ job orders on the Employ Florida Marketplace and reviews all job orders entered directly by employers for completeness and any applicable regulations. Steve creates a weekly "Hot Jobs" list to assist employers in filling their immediate needs. Steve also helps manage targeted hiring events and job order follow-up, ensuring that all job order information on the Employ Florida Marketplace is accurate and up-to-date. Steve also works with the rest of the Business Services team to match qualified applicants with current job openings.
As an Employer Services Representative, Ian assists area business owners and human resources professionals with a variety of FloridaWorks services. A certified Florida Ready to Work Job Profiler, Ian makes presentations about the benefits of the Florida Ready to Work credentialing system and completes job profiles for local employers. Ian also manages Business Employment Solutions and Training (BEST) grant applications.
As an Employer Services Representative, Erin manages targeted hiring events. She works with employers to establish candidate pre-screening procedures and identifies qualified applicants. Erin focuses on filling job openings with qualified applicants through the Employ Florida Marketplace.
As the Communications Manager for FloridaWorks Business Services, Lydia Claire is responsible for all print and electronic materials, including the Web site, newsletter articles and marketing materials. She manages the design and content of all print, radio and television advertising, coordinates the FloridaWorks Communications Committee, and handles press releases and media inquiries. Lydia Claire is a member the Gainesville chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association and the Gainesville Advertising Federation.
